Who it's for
Is there a minimum age?
Over 18s only. ID may be requested on the day — bring something with date of birth on it just in case.
Who is this experience for?
People who love film, who want a story most people won't believe, and who appreciate craft over theme-park spectacle. Equally great as a gift, a milestone, or a team event.
Can I bring a non-participant guest?
No spectators. The working area is strictly limited to participants and crew — for safety reasons we can't accommodate non-participant guests on the day.
On the day
What should I wear?
Sturdy footwear, layers, waterproofs, and nothing precious. Eye protection and any other PPE are provided.
What should I bring?
Yourself. We provide everything operational. You're welcome to bring a phone for personal photos between exercises.
Will food be provided?
Doors Off includes lunch and refreshments. Big Bang & Theory is a shorter session and does not include catering.
Do I get anything to take away?
Yes — Doors Off participants receive their professionally edited reel after the day, plus a small set of keepsakes from set. You leave with more than just the memory.
Safety
Is this safe?
Yes. As we are dealing with potentially dangerous materials, every exercise is run by a Health & Safety supervised SFX team with professional fire cover and rigid protocols. You're handling real explosives — under real supervision.
Who runs the day?
Your SFX supervisor is one of the most prolific in recent years, with credits on productions you've seen.
Will I sign a waiver?
Yes — all participants complete a waiver before active exercises begin.
Access
Is the experience wheelchair accessible?
Yes, with advance notice. Please mention any access needs in your enquiry and we'll plan the day around them.
Weather
What happens if the weather is bad?
As on any proper set, the show goes on. We have rain cover for key segments and contingency plans for the rest. In the extremely rare case a day cannot run, we reschedule.
Money
What's included?
All equipment, materials, instruction, safety cover, and (Doors Off only) the professionally edited film. Doors Off also includes lunch and refreshments.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds and reschedules are handled personally — please contact us as soon as you know your plans have changed and we'll find the right answer for your booking.
Do you offer gift bookings?
Yes — get in touch and we'll arrange it personally.
Filming
Will I get footage?
Doors Off — yes, a professionally edited scene, a making-of, and outtakes. Big Bang & Theory — informal phone footage only.
Can I share the footage?
Yes, freely — for personal use.
